David Evan Hughes

Our big brother, David, died suddenly on October 22, 2020. He was at work, during the night shift when he had a massive heart attack. He lived his life until the day he died.

He talked about retiring, but hadn’t. We loved him, and he loved us and his close friends. Jeff, Curt, Beth, Mike, Julie, and others. Dave graduated from Eldorado High School in 1972. He had a love of the Arts and Media having amassed a varied and impressive DVD and CD collection as well as cameras. He was a member of Toastmasters Sandia 765 for several years. He became a volunteer at KUNM radio in the early 1990’s, where he started working in Radio Theatre. He wrote and produced many pieces, some you can find at KUNM Radio Theatre page. He completed a BA in Media Arts in 2003 and went to Paris with the French Honors Club, the trip of his lifetime. His brother Allyn and sister Catherine, will miss him and love him, always and forever.

Catherine thanks his friends, Curt, Beth and Jeff and her friends Kim, Michelle and Deb, for helping disburse his possessions, and the Animal Humane and Thrift Store for accepting so much of his stuff. Cremation has taken place and his earthly possessions have been disbursed. If you are so inclined, please make a donation to Animal Humane or KUNM radio in David’s memory.
