Marion "Mim" Belcher
Marion “Mim” Belcher, age 93, of Albuquerque since 1989, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021, Valentine’s
Day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Belcher. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Yvonne and Jesse Spicer of Albuquerque; brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Mary Gibbs of Detroit, MI; nephews, Raymond Hearn and Allen Gibbs, both of Detroit; special cousin, William Floyd of San Diego, CA; three special Albuquerque friends among many, Anna Wiggins, Patricia Lennens, and Mae Lockett; and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins and life-long Detroit friends.
For more than 30 years, Marion worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Detroit and Los Angeles. She loved helping people and was a member of the Rio Rancho NW Mesa NAACP, The Home Circle, Friends of Many Cultures, CTC Old-timers Club, Civitan International, Meadowlark Red Hatters, and the Gray Panthers. Marion loved painting shoes (and many other items) for friends, family and herself, for which she received many compliments. She loved jazz, collecting rocks, sewing and was very passionate and knowledgeable about her menagerie of plants surrounding her sunken bathtub.
A Zoom Memorial Service will be held on her birthdate, Friday, April 9, 2021 (Zoom invitations forthcoming early April).
