Robert Denton Boyd

Robert Denton Boyd, passed away on February 7, 2021, in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 84. Robert was born in Gallup, NM on September 23,

1936 to parents Harry Denton Boyd and Jesse Boyd.

In 1980 Robert married his true love, Sherry Olbright. They were inseparable in life and loved their family. Their 40 years of marriage was filled with laughter and love.

Robert served his country for six years in the U.S. Army. He took great pride in his service and his patriotism. After serving in the military, he worked for 48 years for the Burlington National Santa Fe Railroad. The largest freight railroad network in North America. He spent most of that time as the train engineer and he was greatly respected for his skills and temperament. Through his stellar career with BNSF, he developed many life-long friends.

Robert will be dearly missed as he lived his life with compassion, wisdom and love. He is survived by his loving wife Sherry; sons, Denton, Robert, and Pete; daughters, Tiffany and Mayumi. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren who loved him deeply. Robert loved his family and had a special bond with his dogs, Avalanche and Zia.

A celebration of a life well lived will be scheduled in the future. Robert was a one-of-a-kind gentleman who touched the hearts of all who knew him.
