NM reports 320 new infections, 14 deaths

Five state prison inmates, two federal detainees test positive for COVID-19

The New Mexico Department of Health reported 320 new COVID-19 cases Sunday and 14 deaths.

Bernalillo County had 101 new cases, Doña Ana County had 44, Eddy County had 25, Sandoval County had 23, and Valencia County had 22.

There were also five new cases among state inmates — one at the Central New Mexico Correction­al Facility in Valencia County and four at the Lea County Correction­al Facility — and two among federal detainees at the Cibola County Correction­al Center.

The number of deaths in the state due to complicati­ons from the disease is now 3,624. Those whose deaths were reported Sunday were:

■ A woman in her 60s and a man in his 80s from Bernalillo County. Both had underlying health conditions.

■ A man in his 40s from Chaves County who was hospitaliz­ed and had underlying conditions.

■ A man in his 50s from Curry County who was hospitaliz­ed.

■ Two men in their 70s and a man in his 80s from Doña Ana County.

■ Two women, one in her 50s and one in her 70s, from Lea County.

■ A man in his 70s from Luna County who was hospitaliz­ed and had underlying conditions.

■ A man in his 70s from Sandoval County who had underlying conditions.

■ A man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s, from San Juan County.

■ A man in his 70s from Santa Fe County who had underlying conditions.

On Sunday, 242 people were hospitaliz­ed in New Mexico with COVID-19.

The state has had a total of 182,789 cases, with 132,219 recoveries.
