Oppose HB4 Civil Rights Bill

(SCOTT) EATON’S clear explanation of the damage the Civil Rights House Bill 4 would do to New Mexico is eye-opening (“Act means we sue cops, don’t fight crime,” Feb. 17). I implore our senators to vote against HB 4. It is unfathomable anyone in the Legislature would vote for any measure that would make crime in New Mexico worse. How can anyone argue House Speaker Brian Egolf, D-Santa Fe, and Sen. Joseph Cervantes, D-Las Cruces, have the best interests of the citizens of New Mexico in mind while sponsoring this bill? Come on, New Mexicans, speak out and demand that our politicians improve this state, not damage it further.
