Science kits donated to NM schoolchildren
LAS CRUCES — The Asombro Institute for Science Education now remotely shares the wonder of science at its Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park, distributing 5,000 science kits to students across New Mexico.
“Children are innately curious and we can tap into that to make learning exciting, even when they’re learning remotely,” Asombro Institute Assistant Director Stephanie Haan-Amato said.
A nonprofit organization that has brought science education to local students for more than 30 years, Asombro has distributed science kits to elementary and middle schools in Las Cruces, Deming and Albuquerque this school year. The kits were made possible by grants and donations from generous community members, and put together by Asombro’s volunteers.
