Lionel Mark Griego

Lionel Mark Griego passed away unexpectedly on February

20, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lionel was born November 2, 1961 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and was the oldest child of Billy Griego and Julia Rush. Lionel lived his adult life in Albuquerque and spent a career in the flooring and tile business.

He is survived by his loving mother Julia Rush, children Travis and Joshua Griego, and his sisters Annette Lloyd and Valerie Gomez. We all are grateful for the things that Lionel brought into our lives and we will miss his everpresent smile.

Lionel was kind-hearted and was always the first to call family on birthdays. He was a loving brother and protective of his sisters, and always knew how to dote on his mother who he lived with in recent years. As a father, he was extremely proud of his two sons. He provided them a similar growing up experience from his own and brought them up to have the same values. He spent his childhood on the farm with cousins, siblings, and extended family in Puerta De Luna. Although he was a person of few words, through his actions he showed that he cared.

The family wishes to say "thank you" to everyone who has been part of his life, and everyone who has helped the family through this difficult time.
