SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Spring is coming. The sun is shining, so why not get some outdoor time with a new dog?

Meet Perla, she is almost 2 years old and is a sweet, mid-size girl looking for a second chance in life. The 50-pound mixedbreed pup came to the shelter when her previous guardians could no longer care for her. They tell shelter staff that Perla is good with kids and other dogs. Here at the shelter, Perla has done well with other dogs. She loves to go on walks and knows some basic commands.

Of course, sometimes nothing but a cat will do. If so, meet Tillie. She is a lovely 12-year-old domestic shorthaired

female cat with beautiful orange eyes.

Tillie currently weighs a little over 7 pounds. She came to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter after her previous guardians could no longer care for her, but now she is ready to find another loving family to call her own. Tillie has had a rough time transitioning to life in the shelter; she is shy and takes time to warm up to new people but, once she does, she will show you her full personality and even offer up some purrs.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa

Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours during the pandemic are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and are by appointment only. Call 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email Adoption@ SFHumaneSociety.org to schedule an appointment to see these cute pets or the many others looking for a forever home.

See available animals and updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety.org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

50% off all adult dog fees!

The shelter is kicking off St. Pawtricks month NOW because we all need some luck!

Through the end of March, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter is cutting all adoption fees for dogs 6 months and older by 50%. The “Get Lucky! Adopt Your Own Lucky Charm” promotion hopes to inspire more people to consider opening their hearts and homes to a new cuddly friend. There are a lot of great dogs in all sizes, breeds and ages available for adoption at this special rate. All adoptions at the shelter include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, ageappropriate vaccinations and a bag of food. The promotion does not include shelter heroes. ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Calling all lovers of black labs!

Meet Duke. He is a yearold smiling, happy-golucky dude.

Seriously, just look at that big smile! Duke is available for an adoption fee of $20 and goes to his happy-tails home neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and with six months of heartworm prevention.

Out of Valentine’s chocolates and looking for something sweet? Adopt Valentino. This 3-year-old, 11-pound cherub of a kitty gives the gift of love every day. He enjoys talking and listening, he’s super affectionate and social, and he’s handsome as all get-out, too.

Apply to adopt Valentino or Duke on the shelter’s website, www. espanolahumane.org.

Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway, in Española. Because of COVID-19, it is currently closed to the public and is offering adoptions by appointment only. To see more adoptable pets, log on to www.espanolahumane. org or www.petango. com/espanola. For more information, call 505-753-8662.
