Sustainable farms shared goal with EPA
The New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau has signed a threeyear memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to expand activities that support a “shared goal of well-managed, sustainable farms,” according to an EPA news release.
The agreement will promote training on agricultural practices that benefit the environment and local farming and ranching businesses. The groups will hold annual meetings to discuss the programs.
“Farmers and ranchers have a vested interest in the protection and improvement of water and soil resources, and this partnership will move us towards this shared goal,” said Chad Smith, NMFLB CEO.
