SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Fluffy is almost a year old and currently weighs about 45 pounds. Here at the shelter, Fluffy has been an amazing little fella. He really seems to enjoy playgroup and playing chase games with the other doggies. He loves to go on walks and is excellent on a leash. His unique marking and coloring makes him a super handsome pup. Come meet him today!

Shae is an elegant 8-pound, yearold domestic shorthaired female kitty. At the shelter, Shae is a bit slow to seek affection but, once you start petting her chin and neck, she is very much a fan. After a few times of meeting Shae, you might even hear her purrr a “thank you.” She’d love to find a forever home, so please come and introduce yourself to her.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, with the last adoption at 5:30 p.m. Face coverings are required to visit the shelter. Call 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email Adoption@SFHumaneSociety.org for more information. View available animals and updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety. org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

SUMMER OF LOVE ADOPTION SPECIAL: NO FEE TO ADOPT ADULT ANIMALS!

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter is waiving the adoption fees on all adult animals this weekend only in a bid to clear some much-needed space due to extreme overcrowding at the shelter. More than 70 dogs and cats are currently available for adoption, but, as an open admission shelter, animals continue to arrive on a daily basis. The Santa Fe shelter, which is also a no-kill shelter, needs to make room for more dogs in order to save lives. Although adoption fees are waived, the adoption process remains the same. Potential adopters are required to complete an in-person adoption counseling, per the shelter’s usual process and a city or county license fee will apply. Find a new pet only at the shelter at 100 Caja del Rio in Santa Fe from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. today.

All animals adopted from the shelter are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received age-appropriate vaccinations. Visit SFHumaneSociety.org for more information.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Billy is fixin’ to be a film star. This senior studmuffin is currently being fostered in Los Alamos, where he’s been recharging his belly and his batteries on food and love — and, after some time working on a film project, he’s now available for adoption. Billy is housetrained and would love a home with a doggie door and a fenced yard. This lover and adventurer adores all people and pets. While he’s mostly deaf, he’s very tuned-in to his people and surroundings, and he even takes cues from his foster fur-brother.

If you adopt this perfect 48-pound, senior boy soon, you might even be featured in a film. Apply on our website and we will schedule a meetand-greet with Billy’s dedicated foster dad. www.espanolahumane. org, 505-753-8662.

Fergus is a ginger lover-boy who will make sure your neck is never cold. He has a purr like a motorboat and his antics will keep you laughing. He loves long conversations where he does all the talking and you look lovingly into his eyes. This 2-monthold kitten is currently available from foster care in Santa Fe; he loves tummy rubs, big cats and sleeping in flip flops. Apply online at www. espanolahumane.org or call 505753-8662 to schedule a meet-andgreet with the foster family.

EMPTY THE SHELTER: Also crowded with wonderful pets needing homes, Española Humane is offering lowered adoption fees. Through today, and thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation, all pets will be available for an adoption fee of just $25. The shelter is also waiving the adoption fees for senior pets and working cats. Come and meet your new furever friend. For details, log on to www.espanolahumane.org.

FOSTER FAMILIES NEEDED:

Help Española Humane meet its July Foster Challenge. The shelter’s goal is to place 202 more pets into foster (to double the number!). Fostering can even be a short-term, no-strings-attached rendezvous, such as taking a dog for a Coffee Break or Afternoon Adventure and/or a sleepover. How about a weekend staycation or a week-long vacation? Puppies, kittens, adult dogs and post-surgical medical fostering, too. Apply at www.espanolahumane.org/ fostering-pets/. You can email the foster team to learn more at foster@ espanolahumane.org.

Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. The shelter is open to the public for adoptions from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Face coverings and proper social distancing are required inside the kennels and shelter. Apply to adopt any of these pets online and schedule an appointment by visiting www.espanolahumane.org or calling 505-753-8662. To see other available pets looking for their forever homes, visit the shelter’s social media pages or website.
