Pauline (Torres) Blechner, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerqu­e on July

3, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Carlota Torres, her son’s, Benito Blechner, Philip Blechner, her brothers; Benito, Hilario, Richard, and Ben Torres, and her sisters, Angie Torres and Candelaria CdeBaca. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert, daughter, Renee, grandsons Ryan Blechner, Michael and Daniel Wiggins, and greatgrand­son, Blaise Wiggins.

Pauline was a proud childhood resident of Bernalillo and kept involved with the politics and happenings in her hometown. She was employed by the New Mexico Unemployme­nt Security Division for 36 years. Her pride and joy was her family. She was proud of her nieces and nephews and excelled at maintainin­g relationsh­ips with her family and friends. Pauline was a stylish, elegant lady, who enjoyed entertaini­ng. With her husband and friends and family she travelled frequently to Las Vegas.

She and her sister-in-law, Rosemary, once travelled to Rome to meet the pope. She also enjoyed the casino and shopping for clothes and jewelry. She was a loyal Lobo fan and season ticket holder, who went on to follow the careers of many Lobo players. Pauline was a lifelong Catholic and a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Pauline was an outgoing beautiful lady, who was a loyal wife, mother, grandmothe­r, greatgrand­mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 16, 2021, with a rosary beginning at 10:00 and mass immediatel­y following at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 1860 Griegos Rd. NW in Albuquerqu­e. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
