SF ANIMAL SHELTER & HUMANE SOCIETY

Sunflower is a lovely 3-year-old Rottweiler mix who weighs about 70 pounds. Sunflower is a sweet pup and very affectionate. She loves playgroup, and gets along with most other doggies, and also enjoys leash walks and exploring her surroundings. As part of the shelter’s Summer of Love promotion, Sunflower’s adoption fee, along with fees for all the animals at the shelter, is $50 through the month of July. Come meet her today.

York is a spicy 10-pound, 2-yearold domestic shorthaired male kitty. At the shelter, York has been confident when meeting new people. He makes his own rules about how much affection he appreciates. The ideal family would let York enjoy their home and let the kitty watch the world go by.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption are hours 11 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, with the last adoption at 5:30 p.m. Face coverings are required to visit the shelter. Call 983-4309 ext. 1610 or email Adoption@SFHumaneSociety. org for more information. View available animals and updated COVID-19 shelter policies at SFHumaneSociety.org. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Santa Fe Animal Shelter’s Mobile Adoption Team is getting out and about. Today, the shelter will be hosting an adoption event from noon-3 p.m. at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Drive. Drop by and meet some really great pets looking for forever homes.

SUMMER OF LOVE ADOPTION SPECIAL

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter continues its adoption event through the end of July.

The adoption fee for all animals, regardless of age or breed, is just $50. The shelter continues to be overcrowded and hopes a lower adoption fee will help more homeless animals find a forever home. The shelter’s animal population has surged as the number of strays, and unwanted kittens and puppies have multiplied exponentially over the past month. With the peak of summer and the warm weather still ahead of us, the shelter is prioritizing finding homes for all adoptable animals.

The $50 adoption special includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations; the special is happening only at the shelter’s main campus through July 31. So, there is plenty of time to come out and find a forever friend.

ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Dizzie is a distemper survivor. He’s one in a million — not just because surviving this respiratory and neurologocal virus is so rare, but also because he’s So. Dang. Happy. ALL THE TIME. See this face? He’s got a perma-grin that will make your own cheeks ache from smiling so much. He’s just a year old and his outlook on life is nothing but sunshine, even though he could easily have dissolved into despair through months of illness. Dizzie is currently in foster care: he is housetrained, leash trained, knows basic commands in two languages, loves all humans and pets, and is currently fostered with a senior dog. If you adopt Dizzie soon, you could even be featured in a film! Apply on the website at www. espanolahumane.org, and we will schedule a meet and greet with his foster for you!

Isaac is the goofy, funny boy in his litter, always ready to rumble or roll. He enjoys head scratches and batting around play mice — or his littermates! This 2-month-old sweet little guy with the cute spotted tummy has big dreams of becoming a mighty tiger. Isaac is available for adoption from his foster home; call the shelter to set up a meeting.

Española Humane is located at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. The shelter is open to the public for adoptions from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Face coverings and proper social distancing are required inside the kennels and shelter. Apply to adopt any of these pets online by scheduling an appointment at www. espanolahumane.org or calling 505753-8662. To see other available pets looking for their forever homes, visit the shelter’s social media pages or website.
