LOBO NOTES
>>> The Lobos return 17 starters (eight on offense, seven on defense and two specialists) for the 2021 season.
>>> Center Kyle Stapley, the oldest Lobo on the roster at 25, is the only threeyear starter on the team. He also owns the most starts on the team and the most consecutive starts. He has started 31 straight games. He played the final two games on a badly injured left knee, as doctors performed surgery to repair a torn MCL and ACL after the season. He starts at center in the opener.
>>> Jerrick Reed recorded four interceptions last season that led the MWC. The four interceptions were tied for 8th in the nation and it was the second-most of any player who played in just seven or fewer games (Michigan State’s Shakur Brown had five). Reed’s 0.57 interceptions per game ranked fifth nationally.
DANNY GONZALES The UNM alumnus is 2-5 heading into his second year as head coach.
