Colorado Springs (9-6-5):

The Switchbacks have turned their fortunes around dramatically with nine wins — as many as they posted in 2019 and ’20 combined. The league’s most potent attack is the primary reason. Colorado Springs leads the USL Championship with 45 goals, 20 of them scored by prolific forward Hadji Barry, who has seven more than anyone else in the league. Still, Barry is not a oneman show. Midfielder Michee Ngalina has superb numbers with eight goals, 40 chances created and a league-best eight assists. The Switchbacks’ defense has allowed 35 goals.

New Mexico (6-7-7): The attack has shown a bit more fire since attacking midfielder Chris Wehan rejoined the club in midAugust — four of his five goals were with Orange County — but goals have remained scarce during United’s seven-match winless streak. Sergio Rivas picked up his team-leading fourth goal last week against Phoenix Rising. Midfielder Andrew Tinari has shown a knack for creating opportunities, assisting on five of his team’s 24 goals. New Mexicans Devon Sandoval and Josh Suggs are the only players to appear in all 20 matches. Goalkeeper Alex Tambakis leads in starts (19) and minutes (1,710).
