Jo Durkin-Lovelady, 90, of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2021. She passed at home surrounded by loved ones.

Jo was born in Pueblo, CO May

31, 1931. Jo and Bob with their four children moved to Albuquerqu­e, NM in 1962. Jo could be seen daily dragging her kids to the tennis courts, golf courses and endless sporting events. After her kids were grown, she started her career in the automobile business. She was a natural, selling cars for Toyota, Lexus and Mercedes dealership­s in Albuquerqu­e. Once grand kids and great grandkids entered the picture, she rarely missed an event. She built a family foundation of love, acceptance and humor that will remain a legacy and be passed down for generation­s. She truly was our family’s number one fan. She was an epic soul that made the world a better place for all who knew her.

She was a devoted member of Sandia Mountain Church of the Nazarene where she attended church and a woman’s bible study. Her generosity to the church was robust and altruistic. Her devotion created an environmen­t that allowed her to make lifelong friends through worship. Jo was loved by her large extended family in New Mexico and Colorado which includes cousins from the Lovelady, McKee,

Dyke and Hunter families.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband’s Bob Durkin and Wayne Lovelady, her step daughter Karen Lovelady, her parents George and Lila Day, and her sister Lila Lee Day. She is survived by her precious Aunt Gena who was her best friend; her children Dee, Mike and wife Carrie, Shelly and husband Hondo, Pat and wife Lisa, and step-children David and Laurie; her grandchild­ren Josh and wife Kristina, Brett, Shauna and partner Steve, Katie and husband Danny, Tyler and husband Rorey, Conner, Hunter and partner Nick, Melanie and fiancé Hunter, Aaron and wife Steffanie, Shauncey, Emma and husband Jordan, Jessica and wife Kat, and Ryan; great grandchild­ren Lily, Atticus, Haley, Blake, Michael, Finley, Ally and Henry; Nephews Doug, Bruce and Ron and their families.

A celebratio­n of Jo’s life will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Daniel’s Family Funeral Services located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. To view informatio­n or leave a condolence, please visit www.danielsfun­eral.com
