Gisela Anna Ottilie Kleck Rothe

-

Gisela (Geez-eh-la) Anna Ottilie Kleck Rothe was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 9, 1936, and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly to the Flowered Fields of Heaven on January 23, 2022. Oma, as her family knows her, loved her family, loved her animals, loved helping her friends and loved her flowers……boy did she love her flowers. As a young girl in World War II Germany she experienced experiences one would never wish on anyone. As an attractive young Fraulein, a decade after the war she captured the eye of Herbert, a young German Immigrant and American G.I. stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Married in 1960, she immigrated with Herbert to America to pursue their American Dream. Hardworking and successful entrepreneurs they retired to their ‘Shangri-la’ in Placitas where they lived for 30+ years. They eventually relocated to the Albuquerque Four Hills in 2013 where Gisela provided loving care for Herbert before he predeceased her in 2017. Gisela will be missed as a light of the neighborhood and always being seen by neighbors walking her beloved little white ‘Mango’ through the streets of Four Hills. ‘Mango’ may well be the most walked dog in the area. Through the years Gisela was a superlative gardener, accomplished seamstress, and a magnificent quilter with a general flair for all kinds of Arts and Crafts. She knew how to use splashes of color, shapes, and the unusual to catch an observer’s eye. Charitable with her works, she made countless baby blankets for underprivileged newborns. To receive something handmade from Gisela was special. Today Gisela and Herbert reunite on Heaven’s dance floor – with the twinkle in their eyes, smile on their faces, a twist, a twirl, an embrace and as usual, everybody is probably watching them dance!! Gisela is survived by her daughter Anita with husband Brad; son Peter with wife Tracie; grandson Jordan with wife Ting; grandson Kyle with wife Gabriela and brand-new great grandson Mateo! In Germany sister Helga, niece Daniela with husband Andreas; Sister-in law Ingrid, niece Claudia; Sisters-in-law Eva, Christel, Marga and niece Britta. Gisela, a resilient and remarkable woman, is also survived by memories of her kind and helpful nature with those who had the chance to meet her during a life of 85 years well lived. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation to Lap Dog Rescues or Felines and Friends or another charity of your choice. In fact, why not go ahead and adopt a furry friend for yourself. A Memorial Service will be planned at a future date to appropriately honor the memory of our beloved Oma. Please visit our online guestbook for Gisela at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
