Charlotte J.

(Jo Ann) Randall joined the other saints and angels on March 19, 2022. Jo Ann was born to C.E. (Pat) and Julia Mae (Judy) Evans on October 25th, 1931, in Cordell, OK.

She was raised in south/central Oklahoma and graduated from Tipton High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Bob, at the Baptist Student Union there. After receiving her degree in Elementary Education, they were married in Lawton, Oklahoma and lived in Florida and San Antonio, TX while Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force. The couple then moved to Albuquerque where Bob worked until retirement at Sandia National Laboratories and Jo Ann devoted herself to her family and then to her students as a gifted educator. She was also involved in the Mu conclave of the Kappa Kappa lota teaching sorority. She enjoyed studying and teaching God’s Word in Sunday School and in numerous small groups and Bible studies throughout her life.

Jo Ann loved to travel, and while visiting countries around the world, she somehow was able to make friends with both local and fellow travelers, always finding some common ground on which to engage in conversation. She truly never met a stranger.

Jo Ann’s life was marked by sacrificial devotion. She was absolutely and resolutely devoted to her God, then to her husband and children, to her students, her church family, a multitude of friends, and especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she was always willing to impart precious nuggets of wisdom. She was famous for never missing any event that a family member might be involved with; never missing a concert, sporting event, play, musical, birthday, graduation, promotion, or award presentation. She was always the most exuberant supporter in the stands or the audience. Jo Ann and Bob were known as almost inseparable until his death in 2014 and were married 62 years.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Pat and Judy Evans, brother Charles (Evelyn) Evans and her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Randall. She is survived by her children Ruth Ann Martin (Will) and James (Jamey) Randall, her grandchildren Randy Martin (Brie), Rebecca Gullett (David), Jason Randall (Michelle), Eric Randall, Brianna Bermudez, and Cole Bermudez. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Ellie and Daniel Gullett.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jo Ann’s name to Hoffmantown Church, or to New Mexico PBS for educational programming. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice De La Luz, and her loving caregivers at Right At Home Healthcare Services.

A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming, on April 9th at 11:00am with burial following at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
