Kay Esta Chitwoo d/Hess/Griffin left this world on Friday morning March 11th, 2022.

She is survived by her husband Albert (Nick) Griffin. Nick and

Kay were married for 35 years. Early in their marriage they often danced the night away at the officer’s club. Later they enjoyed ballooning with family and friends. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Esta Lena and Sandy Chitwood, her sister Nita Lois Lobato, her daughter Teri Bennington (Hess), and stepdaught­er Cela Griffin. Kay is survived by her daughter Lorie Underwood (Hess) and her husband Dave Underwood, daughter Sheri Hess, stepchildr­en Elizabeth Reisinger, Nicholas Griffin and William Griffin and wife Debra. Kay is also survived by her siblings; Don, Jannette, CL, Sandra along with their spouses and their children. Kay’s sisters, Janette and Sandra, had a special bond all of their lives. Kay’s nieces and nephews gave her many wonderful memories, she cherished to her last days. Kay has numerous grandchild­ren. They were her greatest joy in life. She told stories about them whenever someone would listen. Kay would like to give the Tr ejo/Hunter family a special thank you. Nancy, Nicole, Isaiah and

Sean you will always be a part of our family. Kay sends many thanks to her children, step children, family friends and care givers for their many kindnesses and love across the years. However, she has a special thank you for her son-in-law, Dave, for all of his help and support over the year. We will celebrate Kay’s life on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00 am at Paradise Hill Methodist Church, located at 4700 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87114. Reception to follow.
