EVERYONE SHOULD GOGH!

-

One would have to travel great miles to see Vincent van Gogh originals. With “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience,” New Mexicans have an opportunity to see the Dutch impressionist’s masterpieces.

More than 130 years after his death, van Gogh’s legacy continues.

The exhibit has been in Paris and opened its U.S. run in Miami.

It will remain in Albuquerque until May and is located at the immersive Pavilion in the Sawmill District, 1820 Bellamah Ave. NW.

“Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” features about 300 van Gogh paintings. It includes such recognizable classics as “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers” and “Café Terrace at Night,” as well many revealing self-portraits. These are digitally projected onto floors and walls to give visitors a unique perspective of his world.

The exhibit was created by French-Canadian creative director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal’s world-renowned Normal Studio.

Since opening, the exhibit has sold over 2.5 million tickets globally, making it one of the most popular current traveling exhibitions.

The exhibition is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Timed-entry tickets are $39.99 for adults and $23.99 for children at vangoghalbuquerque.com.

Guests are transported into van Gogh’s world through a space comprising three areas that segue fluidly into each other. The Introduction Hall leads into the unique Waterfall Room, which flows into the Immersive Experience Room, which runs on a 45-minute loop.
