Cary Dean Stone,

73, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on April 11, 2022. He was born to Robert and Lorraine Stone in Douglas, Minnesota on February 14, 1949.

He is survived by his brother Bob Stone and family, his wife Mary HaworthStone, and step-sons Shannon Haworth and Brett Haworth. As a child of a military family, Dean lived in many different places. He spent his high school years in Albuquerque and excelled in sports at Highland High school. He lettered in football, basketball and track and was also an excellent student. He was recruited to play football at a number of universities and ultimately chose the University of Miami where he played defensive back. After graduating from college, Dean returned to New Mexico to pursue a career in sales. He excelled in sales for several years before a new opportunity arose in 1975. At that time, his future wife inherited a farm in northern Montana, and with his parents newly stationed to Great Falls, this was the perfect time to change careers. Dean quickly adapted to farming and building like he did with every other challenge and opportunity in his life. Creativity and ingenuity were two of his greatest traits, besides his personality. Not only was he an avid photographer, Dean established a successful barn wood frame business and would later go on to craft custom made golf clubs and hand-made knives and sheathes for family and friends alike. While Dean was a private person, family and friends were very important to him. He believed in humanity and had a genuine love for all people. He believed in a good day’s work and took pride in the work he did. Dean’s final wishes were to be cremated, and for his ashes to be spread around the farm.
