Robert “Bob” M. Winn, age 67 passed away in his home in Rio Rancho on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Bob was born on January 2, 1955 in Salt Lake City, UT, to parents Alma and Gerry Winn. He was the 2nd of 5 children. Bob grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and in Raton, NM. He graduated from Raton High School in 1973.

Bob started working for PNM in Albuquerqu­e reading meters when he was 19. In 1974 he went into the power plants to start an apprentice­ship program to become a Power Plant Operator. Around 1978 he transferre­d to Farmington, NM to the San Juan power plant and then back to Albuquerqu­e in 1980 to start at Power Operations as a System Operator. In 1997 he became an Energy Broker which changed into Energy Marketer. He retired from PNM in 2006. He was offered a position soon after with OATI and retired with them in 2016.

Bob was known for his green thumb and he loved to garden. He had an amazing work ethic and liked to keep busy. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fly fish when he could and also enjoyed bow hunting. He was adventurou­s and when he was younger, went hang gliding, river rafting, skiing, and mountain climbing. He was talented in wood working, drawing, and photograph­y. He liked to carve wood and liked working on model airplanes and vehicles. He loved flying the radio-controlled airplanes. He also liked motorcycli­ng and driving his 3 wheeled Slingshot.

Bob was very charismati­c and outgoing. He made friends easily and was a great neighbor to all. In his later years he suffered with some health problems, but tried to keep a positive attitude. He attended church at Sagebrush when he was able to. He will be greatly missed by all.

Bob is survived by three of his children, Holly (Jeremy) Randall, Rob (Patricia) Winn, and Tim Winn; sisters, Debbie Packer (Nathan), and Wendy Redic; brother, Dan Winn (Tina); grandchild­ren, Janelle, Seth, Joel, Shane, Trevor, and Cassidy Randall, Zibeon, Nekoda, Attilio, and Daisy Winn; and one great-granddaugh­ter expected in July.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Matthew; granddaugh­ter, Natalie; and his brother, Jeff Winn.

Services will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 with the viewing at 9:00 a.m., and the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH-Westside. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Please visit our online guestbook for Bob at www.FrenchFune­rals.com
