1 Lungfish and lager

The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is continuing its Science on Tap series Friday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.

Irene Salinas Remiro will discuss “In and Out of Your Cocoon: The Tribulatio­ns of the African Lungfish and Its Immune System,” at the museum, 601 Eubank Blvd. SE.

Tickets for the 21 and over event are $5 and include a drink ticket for one beer from Bombs Away Beer Company. Additional beer and wine will be for sale.

2 Sew much fun

The Las Colcheras Quilt Guild is hosting the Spring Fling Quilt Show in Las Cruces.

The two-day event runs 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and Saturday, Feb. 4.

The Albuquerqu­e Concert Band will be performing at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5. The free concert will be held at Eldorado High School’s George Nason Performing Arts Center, 11300 Montgomery Blvd. NE.

The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team will take on the San Diego State Aztecs at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Pit.

The Lobos were narrowly defeated by the Aztecs on the road Jan. 19, so let’s pack the Pit and rally behind our ladies in cherry and silver.

5 An annual affair

The Weems Gallery and Framing indoor sidewalk sale is set to kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.

The event, which runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Feb. 11, features works by local artists at prices 40% off or more.

The ABQ Artwalk will take to the streets from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Downtown Albuquerqu­e.

This month’s featured artist is Beedallo, who combines cartooning with traditiona­l folk art.
