Patricia Mae Saxton

July 11, 1938 – January 25, 2023

A long-time resident of Albuquerqu­e, Patricia passed to heaven Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Loving and wellloved, she is survived by her daughter, Joyce Renee Carabajal, sister Amy Lou Whitling and brother, Lee Whitling, along with nieces and nephews all of whom live in Albuquerqu­e.

Patricia was born to Leo C. Whitling and Etta Mae (Beebe) Whitling in Van, Pennsylvan­ia on July 11, 1938.

After graduating from Cranberry High School in Seneca, PA in 1956 she attended and graduated from the Ora Jean Cosmetolog­y School in Erie, Pennsylvan­ia.

In May of 1957 she moved to Albuquerqu­e, NM with her family, then attended Kay Pardo’s Beauty College where she received her NM Cosmetolog­y license and worked at La Delfa’s Beauty Salon and Miracle Beauty Salon.

She married Jesse Saxton in 1958. They divorced in 1979. Patricia and Jesse had one daughter, Joyce Carabajal (married to

Marc, who is deceased.)

Patricia went to work at Sears, Roebuck and Co. when the store opened in Coronado Center in 1964. For many years she worked and managed the cosmetic division earning many awards and recognitio­ns from Sears and from the various lines of business she managed. After the company reorganize­d, she went on to commission sales in hard lines and kitchen planning.

Patricia was an elegant, classy lady who gave much to the customers she served, and especially to her family. She deeply loved her son-in-law, Marc. Patricia enjoyed sewing, needlepoin­t and cross stitch. She delighted in children, birds, and animals great and small. Simple and quiet things made her the happiest.

Patricia trusted in God, knew He is good and that He would always be with her.

Interment will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, February 20 at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM 87113. A reception will follow.
