Jimmy Sanchez, 72 of Rio Communitie­s surrendere­d himself into the hands of his heavenly Father on February 5, 2023. Jimmy was born in 1950, in Albuquerqu­e.

He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, the class of 1968. He proudly joined the Marines the following year, serving his country in Vietnam. After he completed his service in the Marines in 1972, he attended and received his bachelor of science degree from New Mexico Highlands University where he met his wife Sandra. Jimmy was a very dedicated man regarding his Military service, his profession­al endeavors, his devotion to family and with his many friends.

Jimmy was a successful businessma­n in Belen, specializi­ng in accounting and taxes. He served his community on the Belen City Council, Our Lady of Belen Parish Council, along with other civic organizati­ons. He was a member of the La Merced Moose Lodge 2550, where he was proud to receive the Moose Fellowship Degree of Honor, in October 2021. He enjoyed his life making memories traveling across the country, bowling, fishing, camping as well as playing golf. He was a man of adventure and was well known for his keen sense of direction. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Isidro Sanchez, Jr., brothers David and Tony, sisters Martha and Louise, and granddaugh­ter BG Pulsipher. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 loving years,

Sandra (& their pug Waldo), his beautiful mother Dulcinea Gabaldon, his firstborn David, the apple of his eye, wife Karen, his kind and thoughtful daughter Bernadette Pulsipher, husband John, and his youngest and caring “angel” daughter Maria and Taylor Sais. His grandchild­ren: Desirae and Desmond Sanchez, little Lauren Pulsipher and Isabella Sais. Jimmy was blessed growing up in a large family. His brothers Perry (Agnes), Victor (Luz), Joe Robert (Linda), Michael (Eva), and Patrick. His sisters Gloria (Larry Gallegos), Carmen (Manuel Garley), Diane Sanchez and Yvette (Ronald Garcia) along with aunts, uncles, cousins, many nephews, nieces, who were very close to him as well as lifelong friends, especially Frank, Tom, and Larry.

All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Viewing will be held at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023. A Final Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
