Rio Rancho’s Legendary Limo Service offers old school luxury

- BY KEVIN HENDRICKS

If you have ever seen a really cool, classic car and thought, “Wow, I’d love to ride in that,” Bobbi Huber has some good news for you. Huber owns Legendary Limo Service, which is based in Rio Rancho and offers hourly rates to be chauffeured in a pearlwhite 1937 Cadillac.

That initial thought about riding in an old-school, luxury car was what birthed the company.

“We were just driving around Albuquerque and there was a really cool, vintage car, and my husband and I were talking like, ‘Man, I’d love to ride in that,’” Huber said. “And then we started thinking, you know, there’s all kinds of cool cars. If we feel that way, whenever we see these cars, then other people are feeling the same way. ‘I wish I could ride in that.’ And we realized that that was just a niche that hadn’t been addressed in our area and absolutely should be.”

Huber and her husband Curt officially opened for business in June. The first step was securing a 1937 Cadillac Series 70 Fleetwood.

“This process was a labor of love. We bought the car from auction from Maine, and we had it transported all the way across the country to our home in Rio Rancho and immediately started working on it,” Huber said. “You know, getting it up to code, just even be able to drive it. It was not legal to be on the street at all.”

The Cadillac is an attention magnet, featuring modern amenities and classic luxury. And plans are already in place to add a second car — a 1929 Cadillac.

The Hubers operate Legendary Limo out of their Rio Rancho home and offer services in Sandoval, Bernalillo and Santa Fe counties. Bookings can be made online. Rates start at $150 per hour with a lower rate for additional hours.
