‘WILD’ RECOLLECTIONS

Was movie just a dream of youth?

- TV Q&A Rich Heldenfels

You have questions. I have some answers.

Q: My brother and I both remember watching a particular movie when we were younger – I think it must be around 1975 and onwards. We both talk about it and cannot remember the name of the movie. It is about a young man in the States who is a cult-like leader. He gets into politics and people start believing him and what he is saying, and he gets elected president. He is actually not a good guy, and once elected says that people over 30 are over the hill and should not be leaders or even alive anymore. If you have any information, we would be very grateful. A:

You are remembering “Wild in the Streets,” a 1968 movie starring Christopher Jones as Max Frost, a rock star turned politician, and featuring Shelley Winters, Hal Holbrook and Richard Pryor. It generated a Top 40 hit, “The Shape of Things to Come,” credited to Max Frost and the Troopers, though not performed by Jones. It has become a cult favorite.

Q: Is “Little People, Big World” coming back? A:

It is. It returns for its 25th season on TLC Feb. 20. Here’s some of what the network says will happen: “Just as the Roloffs settle into a rhythm, family surprises and continued tension give rise to new struggles and questions. After an unexpected proposal, Matt and Caryn excitedly look to the future while building their dream home on the farm, but the constant strain on the family makes them wonder what that future will look like. While Amy continues to enjoy married life with Chris, she remains unsettled by the family strife. … Meanwhile, Zach and Tori are enjoying their busy lives with three kids. However, everything is turned upside down when Zach is rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.”
