OBITUARIES
Jean Gordon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She went to be with the Lord and passed peacefully at the age of 82 on December 24th, 2023.
A native Oklahoman, born July 4th, 1941, she is the daughter of Arnold and Jeannie Wyss and the granddaughter of a homesteader family who worked the farm in Pawnee county in the early 1900’s. As a young girl, her father’s military service took her out of Oklahoma to many places in the US and abroad where she, her mother, and sister learned about different people and cultures. She had many fascinating stories about her travels. But Pawnee Oklahoma always held a special place in her heart throughout her life.
While in her early twenties, married and raising a young family she began her career as a civil servant in Washington D.C. A true American patriot, she had a distinguished career in service to the U.S. government for over 30 years. After retiring, she became a courageous RV’r traveling the country for a while. She finally settled in Albuquerque
N.M. and became a resident of Vinyard 55 Community for over 20 years and made many friends there. Politically active, she supported candidates and causes she believed in, and was active and generous with her church. Her selfless kindness to her friends, family, and charities illustrates her remarkable character, and she will be forever loved and remembered for it.
Jean is survived by her sister & her extended family, children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Jean was interred at Masham Cemetery in Pawnee County, OK on January 16th, 2023.
