Rosanna Lodato

-

Rosanna Lodato, 84, passed into the gracious arms of our Lord on February 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Rosanna was born April 5, 1939 in Piacenza, Italy to Massimo & Louisa Mazza. Rosanna arrived in the United States in 1955 at the age of 16 with her parents and most of her siblings after crossing the Atlantic Ocean aboard the SS Andrea Doria as many Italian immigrants from that time did. She grew up in the Bronx, NY and in 1963 married Ernest Lodato and had two children, a girl and a boy. In 1972 her young family of four moved to Albuquerque, NM and purchased their first home and while her husband began many entrepreneurial ventures, she worked mostly for Levi Strauss & Company. Rosanna will be remembered for her joy and happiness and infectious laugh and big smile. She and her husband spent their later years traveling throughout North America and Europe including multiple trips to her native country of Italy. Rosanna was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband and brother Aldo Mazza and sister Josephine Cellamare and nephew Anthony Cellamare. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lodato, her son Dino Lodato and his spouse Ellie Lodato, and her grandson Christopher Chavez and his spouse Jennifer Chavez and sisters, Anna Eletto and Mary Greco, and brother Walter Mazza.
