Peter Eugene Meda, of Moriarty, NM, passed away on Feb. 16, 2024 at the age of 62 surrounded by his family and his loyal dog, Sam Shepherd. Pete was a man who had a great passion and love for fast cars, Australian Shepherd dogs and music.

Born near Zion, Illinois, on April 27, 1961, Peter spent his early years in New Haven, CT, and Blackfoot, ID, where he developed a love for hunting and fishing. His life’s path brought him to Roswell, NM, where he developed a love of Green Chile, morning sunrises, and is where he learned the significance of sunsets. Pete was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union and made a name for himself in the Film Industry, working both nationally and internationally but most prominently in New Mexico. His expertise as a driver, master mechanic, and fabricator on movie sets was well-known, and he had a knack for solving even the most complex problems.

A loving father and an exceptional friend, Pete is survived by his two sons, Joshua Sellers and Philip Meda and their wives, as well as his two grandsons, Zander Sellers and Grant Meda. He is also survived by his significant other, Anna Riggs-Eader, who brought immense light and joy to his life in his final years. Pete’s dogs, Sam, Fe, Lucy, and Robbin, were his loyal companions and will miss him dearly.

Pete was a vibrant individual who lived life to the fullest, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. His passion for extraordinary cuisine, beverages, and enjoyable gatherings was unmistakable. His lasagna, southwest corn chowder, and smoked prime rib stand out as particularly memorable dishes cherished by all who had the pleasure of experiencing them. His spirit of adventure and his zest for life will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched. Peter’s legacy of strength, passion, and love will continue to inspire us all.

Pete requested that instead of a traditional memorial service that each & every one of his friends celebrate his life and think of him with a Dos Equis in hand and a smile on their face.
