AT COLLECTED WORKS IN SANTA FE
Matt Gatton of Santa Fe will discuss and autograph copies of his new book “The Shadows of Socrates: The Heresy, War and Treachery Behind the Trial of Socrates” at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4. This narrative purports to solve the murder of Socrates, revealing how he was set up, who did it and why. It is billed as a real-life whodunit.
The book reveals Socrates’ impact on two youths — the half-brothers Alcibiades, who was psychopathic, and Callias, who was manipulative. Alcibiades becomes an Athenian general, while Callias becomes an official of the Mysteries of Eleusis, the personification of religion.
The author will be in conversation with Chris “Kit” Slover, a tutor at St. John’s College.
Collected Works is located at 202 Galisteo St., downtown Santa Fe. It is an in-store event that will be streamed to Zoom.
