- “MEAN GIRLS”

When teenage Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) moves to back to the U.S. from Kenya with her mother (Jenna Fischer), she struggles to find her place in the radically different environmen­t of North Shore High School. Quickly befriendin­g outcasts Janis ‘Imi’ike (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian Hubbard (Jaquel Spivey), Cady is introduced to the convoluted high school social standings. She learns that the high school is largely dominated by the “Plastics,” three beautiful, rich and popular girls with questionab­le intentions. Consisting of Gretchen Wieners (Wood), Karen Shetty (Avantika Vandanapu) and the “Queen Bee” Regina George (Reneé Rapp), the Plastics invite Cady to join their group, setting in motion a chain of events aimed at dethroning Regina George. Tina Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury in this 2024 adaptation of the Broadway musical based on the original 2004 “Mean Girls.”

“MADAME WEB”

Cassandra “Cassie” Webb (Dakota Johnson) is a paramedic in New York City with co-workers Ben Parker (Adam Scott) and O’Neil (Mike Epps). After a call goes wrong and Cassie has a near-death experience, she begins having visions. Dismissing them, Cassie later realizes she has gained precogniti­ve abilities after she fails to save O’Neil’s life, something she had witnessed in one of her visions. Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim), the man responsibl­e for the death of Cassie’s mother (Kerry Bishé), also possesses precogniti­on, but to a lesser extent, and has enhanced physical abilities. Cassie finds herself in a battle to save three young women: Julia Cornwall (Sydney Sweeney), Anya Corazon (Isabela Merced) and Mattie Franklin (O’Connor), all targeted by Ezekiel as his own visions have led him to believe that the three women will come into great power and destroy him.

“THE PROMISED LAND”

In the mid-18th century, Danish officer Ludvig Kahlen (Mads Mikkelson) retires after 25 years of military service to the German Army. Traveling back to his native Denmark with a mere pittance to survive on, Ludvig obtains permission from the Royal Danish Court to build on the infamous Jutland moorland. The Danish King had declared that the Jutland should be cultivated to allow the expansion of civilizati­on, but none dared to follow his decree, as the Jutland was synonymous with death. Ludvig perseveres the obstacles of the harsh, unforgivin­g landscape, rife with danger in the form of ravenous wolves and violent outlaws, in pursuit of his dreams of wealth and honor.
