- “MARMALADE”

Baron (Joe Keery) is a kind-hearted but naive young man living in a small southern town and working as a delivery man to afford medication for his terminally ill mother, Eda (Amy Warner). After Baron loses his job due to his refusal to cut his hair and adhere to the post office’s dress code, he gains hope in the form of the beautiful and eccentric Marmalade (Camila Morrone), a woman with a troubled past. Desperate to obtain his mother’s medication and secure their futures, the two plan a robbery, for which Baron is caught and imprisoned. Sharing a cell with Otis (Aldis Hodge), he recounts his story, forming a bond with the escape artist, who knows more about Baron’s predicamen­t than he leads on.

“THE TASTE OF THINGS”

In 1889 in the beautiful French countrysid­e, Eugenie (Juliette Binoche) works as a cook for Dodin (Benoît Magimel), a wealthy man and gastronome who frequently hosts dinner parties. Aided by her assistant, Violette (Galatea Bellugi), and her daughter, Pauline (Bonnie Chagneau-Ravoire), the dinners are a brilliant success for Eugenie, garnering much attention and appreciati­on. Over time, Eugenie and Dodin develop a romantic relationsh­ip, but Eugenie continuous­ly rejects his marriage proposals. After Eugenie falls ill and subsequent­ly dies, Dodin enters a morbid depression, becoming despondent and refusing to eat. Eventually, encouraged by the young Pauline’s passion for cooking and her desire to follow in Eugenie’s footsteps, Dodin’s passion returns.

Seven Max (Daniel Zovatto) and Madeline (Sophie Turner) are a young couple living in New York City. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, the two find themselves heavily immersed in the city’s hard drug scene, with Seven turning to traffickin­g. Reaping the lucrative rewards of their addiction but barely avoiding the dangers, their risk-taking intensifie­s when Seven attempts to aid a childhood friend in need. Seven and Madeline come to terms that while they may not make it out alive, they will not go down without a fight.
