Fellini loved Walt Disney, whom he met in Hollywood when he went to receive his Oscar for La Strada. The magician of animation organized a small party for him at Disneyland with a band that played the movie’s theme.

The news of his Oscar win for Amarcord reached Fellini while on the set of Casanova. Fellini decided to not go to the ceremony and had his producer accept the award.

Almost all of his movies were filmed on Sound Set 5 in Cinecittà Studios. It was like a second home, to the extent that it was equipped with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen.

Claudia Cardinale said that for 8½ there wasn’t a screenplay but only pieces of paper with a few lines. Just before shooting, the director talked and improvised, Cardinale responded, and this became the dialogue.

The famous scene in La Dolce Vita where Anita Ekberg bathes in the Trevi Fountain was shot in February. It was so cold that Mastroiann­i wore a wet suit under his costume.
