AN HONORARY DEGREE IN PARMA AND ... A FUTURE IN BRAZIL?

- Francesca Migliacci

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti had been awarded an honorary degree from the University of Parma.

The 64-year-old Italian legend was awarded a Master’s degree in Theory and methods of preventive and adapted physical activities, thus earning the distinguished Italian title of Doctor ad honorem.

After receiving the award, Ancelotti expressed his joy and ironically suggested that his players now call him “Doctor.”

During the ceremony, Ancelotti shared with attendees his coaching philosophy. He emphasized the importance of selflessness in soccer, and the need to listen prior to making any decisions. His words provided a unique insight into his successful career, and showed how Ancellotti’s approach focuses just as much on understanding people and what motivates them, as it does on mastering tactics on the soccer field.

During celebrations, the university’s dean hinted to rumors of Ancelotti possibly becoming the coach of Brazil’s national team in 2024. Although, for the time being, this is just gossip, it’s just another touch of mystery surrounding Ancelotti’s future.
