This issue’s featured pet is Bowie, a rescue dog who lives in Rochester, New York, with his proud mama, Aimee Gasparre.
“My husband, Tony, and I are true dog-lovers. After losing our beloved 16-year-old Lab-chow mix, our house felt empty, and we were really sad. So I started searching online for rescue puppies. I came across some living near us and fell in love with the silliest picture of an adorable shepherd-looking pup in a purple shirt and hat. When we went to meet Knox (whom we later renamed Bowie), it was love at first sight. Bowie, a bit older now, is playful and funny and loves to grab anything in his reach. He has many nicknames, including “Jaws,” as he is always grabbing something—socks, newspapers, and mouthfuls of grass, leaves, and sticks. He has brought us such joy and loves our family and friends. The feeling is mutual!” —Aimee Gasparre
