Sausage Cornbread Stuffing
1 16-oz. pkg. Jimmy Dean® Premium
Pork Sausage (Sage or Regular)
2 cups celery, chopped
1 cup onion, finely chopped
4 cups cornbread, toasted & chopped ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 cup chicken broth
1 egg, lightly beaten
½ cup pecans, chopped (optional)
Prep Time: 20 min. | Cook Time: 45 min.
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Cook sausage, celery and onion in large skillet over MEDIUM-HIGH heat for 8–10 min. or until sausage is thoroughly cooked; drain. Spoon into large bowl.
2. Add cornbread, parsley and seasoning; mix lightly. Add in broth and egg, and mix until blended.
Stir in pecans.
3. Spoon into lightly greased 2-quart casserole or souffle dish; cover and bake 45 min. or until thoroughly heated, uncovering after 35 min.
To toast cornbread, bake at 400°F for 10 min.
