See her website or email Peek directly for more information. Moffitt has been creating artwork since he was 7 years old. Primarily self-taught, his career as a professional artist spans over four decades working as an illustrator, mural artist, scenic artist and entertainment union executive. Yet, he somehow found time to create inventive hyperrealistic Trompe l’Oeil and magical realism easel paintings for the “fine art” market.
Tired of playing the “starving artist,” Moffitt began working with noted muralist Garth Benton in the early ’70s to execute murals for the Getty Museum and numerous celebrity clients. His penchant for creating large-scale artwork eventually led him to the motion picture industry where he became the lead scenic artist for Warner
Bros. Studios. Designing and painting artwork for the studios for over 30 years, Moffitt’s backdrops, murals, portraits and fine artwork can be seen—or in some cases hidden in plain sight—in hundreds of Hollywood films, television programs and at themed venues located around the world. He’s also illustrated album covers and created graphic designs and logos for the recording industry, and painted murals for museums and libraries in the southern California area.
Retired from the entertainment industry in 2014, Moffitt now devotes full time to creating his personal fine artwork. An exhibiting member of the International Guild of Realism and Oil Painters of America, he is currently represented by Bash Fine Art in Las Vegas and Gallery 800 in Los Angeles. Moffitt is slated to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Art Directors Guild
22nd annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in January 2018.
