Karen Ann Hitt
Karen Ann Hitt is an awarded and nationally exhibited artist represented by the Hughes Gallery, in Boca Grande, Florida. Classically trained at Parsons
School of Design in New York, Hitt is an Artist member of the historic Salmagundi Club in New York, Associate of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and recently an Art Ambassador at the Forgotten Coast and an Artist in Residence.
Collectors may travel with her in her recent works of lavender harvests, sunrises, sunsets and more. Her newest works will also be on view in a three-artist exhibition opening March 21 at the Hughes Gallery. Gallery owner Barbara Hughes says, “[Hitt’s] developed the ability to cull the essence of a place and gift it to the viewer... Look carefully at her work, her use of brushwork amazes me as she moves seamlessly from small to larger strokes to create an effective texture; almost as if that texture is an actual part of the scene she paints.”
Hitt resides in Venice, Florida, yet spends several months each year hitting the road with her husband from the Gulf Coast to family property in the Eastern Sierras and all parts in between.
