Javier Mulió

-

In the paintings by Spanish artist Javier Mulió—who is known in the art world as Javier—he upholds the adage that art mirrors life since he looks to the everyday for inspiration while reviving art historical precedents. Through a combination of color, light and details, Javier uplifts overlooked objects and encourages viewers to celebrate life’s pleasures.

Art critic Vincente Martí Vaño observes, “Using the rich variety of hues present in nature, Javier enlarges and makes significant through the mystifying power of art those objects of daily life that because of their proximity and their ordinariness normally go unnoticed.”

Appearing in his paintings are recognizable items such as flowers, wine, fruit, seashells, books, candles, golf balls and board games that are placed against unadorned, neutral backgrounds. Transcending any specific culture, location,

or time, Javier’s still lifes demonstrate that art is a universal language for all to enjoy.

The new book Refined Reality: Paintings by Javier Mulió—now available for purchase through R. Alexander Fine Art in Norcross, Georgia—helps communicate information about the methodological and thematic elements of his work. Highlighted in the book are Javier’s observations of reality, transformation of historical precedents and unambiguous display of talent that all enable his paintings to connect with an international audience.

Refined Reality features more than 40 original paintings, an artist biography and new essays focused on producing a heightened understanding and appreciation for Javier’s work.
