Natalie Levin
“C reating art is my passion,” says artist Natalie Levin. “I hope my art inspires and opens the hearts of others to their own sacred Self, which is a place of peace, love and infinite joy.”
Levin’s art channels pure spirit, her sculptures seem alive, as if to breathe. Combining her love of the sensual form, while honoring ancient traditions, her attention to detail and subtle playfulness infuse each sculpture with a profound embodiment of feeling. Frequently she is told from her clients that her sculptures often “speak” to them.
Growing up in the bucolic splendor of Santa Barbara, California, drawing and painting were instinctual. At 13,
Levin began years of intensive study in life-drawing. She received her fine arts degree from UC Santa Barbara, and she has studied with notable Bay Area painter Wayne Thiebaud and funk ceramist Robert Arneson at UC Davis. Workshops with colorist Wolf Kahn and Sebastian Capello furthered her painting skills. Her clay sculptures became a collection in bronze after studying figure sculpture for bronze casting with Richard MacDonald in Monterey.
Levin’s artistic expression is multifaceted. She has worked as a graphic designer and digital illustrator, painter in all media, nature photographer and jewelry designer. With her physician husband, she has illustrated dozens of internationally distributed inspirational greeting cards and co-authored three wellness books. She and her husband have traveled to many of the world’s sacred sites and temples throughout Asia, which inspired her to sculpt Buddhas and the Shakti goddesses.
Levin has had art studios in California, Hawaii and Arizona. Her inspirational bronzes are collected by an international clientele and found in private collections around the world. Through March 2020, her work is on view at the Tucson J Outdoor Sculpture Garden and ongoing at Canyon Ranch, both in Tucson, Arizona.
