Vibrant Exploration
The Seattle Art Fair celebrates a milestone of five years showcasing contemporary art in the Pacific Northwest.
Exploring artistic expression and outside-the-box ideas in a city that’s just as vibrant and eclectic as the event itself, Seattle Art Fair brings together nearly 100 of the nation’s top modern art dealers from August 1 to 4.
“This milestone year is a testament to the region’s vested interest in the arts and the world’s embrace of Seattle as a viable, diverse art capital,” says Max Fishko,
Seattle Art Fair director.
Visitors can explore a myriad of works from such noted dealers as Somerville Manning Gallery, Joshua Liner Gallery, Miles McEnery Gallery, Forum Gallery, Gerald Peters Gallery and many others.
“In our second year at the Seattle Art Fair, we will continue to establish a fresh take on realism while expanding our West Coast client base,” says Rebecca Moore, director of Somerville Manning Gallery, which will exhibit 21st-century paintings and sculptures by American artists.
A variety of projects and talks will be held throughout the event, including a discussion on contemporary curating by Larry Ossei-Mensah, senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit; Paula Marincola, executive director of The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage; and Rita Gonzalez, head of contemporary art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The fair will also offer hands-on projects and experiences like an earthquake simulation and interactive ASMR. “The programming at the Seattle Art Fair this year is eclectically topical,” says Nato Thompson, the fair’s artistic director, who curated the 2019 projects and talks.
American Art Collector is a proud sponsor of the Seattle Art Fair. Information on individual tickets and ticket packages can be found online.
