WHERE TO KEEP YOUR CREDENZA
While buffet tables are most common in the dining room, you don’t have to stick with the dining room for your sideboard or credenza. Here are a few alternative spaces to place these versatile pieces.
• HALLWAY OR ENTRYWAY. If you have a wide hallway or entryway where you’d like some additional storage, this is the perfect space for a credenza or sideboard. In the entryway, it can hold mudroom items such as boots and purses and can even contain your home’s “junk drawer” for mail and odds-and-ends.
• MEDIA/PLAYROOM. To add a sophisticated touch to a media room or playroom, add a credenza or sideboard. It can act as extra storage, and even as a TV console for your standing or mounted TV.
• HOME OFFICE. A credenza or a sideboard is a great piece for the home office, where it can act as both storage and a second workspace. Store files and papers beneath, and use it to spread out if you’re working on a project that requires more room.
