She and her family live in an 1800s farmhouse that she’s infused with warmth, whimsy and vintage touches.

By adding wallpaper it brought a touch of elegance to the traditional.

How did you come up with the name Kindred Vintage?

Rob and I were trying to convey a feeling of nostalgia and warmth through the name. He kept listing words that he thought gave that impression. After a few minutes, he blurted out “kindred” and I loved it. “Vintage” tied into our side business of refinishing furniture at the time. Paired together, “Kindred Vintage” just seemed to work for us.

What’s a style or color or pattern you’re loving right now?

I am really drawn to whimsical design, whether it be fun wallpaper, the ambience of warm lighting or playful artwork. Anything that makes your imagination run wild is something that I love bringing into our home. I love adding romantic, bohemian, eclectic styles into our 1856 farmhouse, so that people walking into our home get an unexpected mix.

Are you working on any projects right now?

Currently, we just had an extralarge shed installed in our backyard. We are designing the space to be our “we shed”where we can gather as a family to get away from it all.
