Love the retro look? Here are some ideas for getting

it in your outdoor space.

RUSTY RETRO. Don’t be afraid of a little rust. If you find an old metal dining set or a table that’s rusty, you can either use it as is or refresh it. A nontoxic method for removing rust is to coat the piece in salt and then rub lemon juice over it. Let the mixture sit for several hours before scrubbing it off.

REPURPOSE. Make the most of your outdoor space by using items in ways they weren’t originally intended for. Use a metal headboard as a garden gate, hang a stained glass window in your she shed or greenhouse and plant smaller patio plants in paint cans or old food cans.

ALL IN THE DETAILS. You can add décor to your outdoor spaces just like you can inside. Be careful about the materials though; make sure the vintage items you choose for outside can withstand the weather. For example, stick with metal and wood for furniture. If you want outdoor wall art, hang old metal signs or empty frames that can withstand a little rain.
