1. FOR THE FREESTANDING, BACKLESS BENCH: Tuck soda crates with bottlebrush trees and piles of ornaments under your bench, drape the top with a plaid throw and add a few old books on top for a vintage vibe.
2. FOR THE BENCH WITH A BACK: Place two or three big wicker baskets under your bench and add a padded seat cushion to match your holiday décor. Then place a few festive pillows atop the bench, along with a small tree tucked in the corner near one of the pillows.
3. FOR THE BENCH AGAINST A WALL: Hang a large paned mirror behind the bench, add a wreath and garland to the mirror, place a large basket under the bench and fill it with colorful blankets and throws. Then add a few pillows to the bench top, along with a small, flocked tree.
4. FOR THE BENCH AT THE FOOT OF A BED: Stack a few vintage suitcases under your bench in holiday colors, drape a festive throw on top and add a basket of holiday reading favorites or a hatbox full of fluffy slippers and socks.
5. FOR THE FIXED BENCH IN A CUBBY: Set up a gift wrap station with wire baskets underneath full of wrapping paper. Then add a colorful table runner or small rug to the top and fill jars, tins, buckets and baskets with bows, tape, scissors, cards, stamps and tags.
