Socially Distanced CHRISTMAS

5 ideas to connect safely with your community this season.

-

1. CAROLING. This is a great way to connect to neighbors and bring cheer to everyone’s front porch. Just step back after you ring the bell so you’re at least six feet from the front door.

2. COOKIES. For many families, making and giving Christmas cookies is a cherished tradition. This year, buy individually wrapped cookies you can give away, or put together cookie ingredients in a Mason jar. Disinfect the jar and wait a few days before delivery to make sure it’s completely clean.

3. TREE LIGHTING. Instead of going to a large gathering, have a tree lighting with your family at home. After you decorate the tree, turn off other lights; then sit around the tree with hot chocolate or wine and share your favorite Christmas memories.

4. CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE. Attending a candle-lit church service is a tradition for many. Find out if your local church is having in-person services, and if not, they probably have an online option. Get candles ready at home that you can light while you watch.

5. FAMILY GATHERINGS. Find out who’s comfortable gathering on Christmas day. Remember that outdoor gatherings are safer than indoors, so an outdoor lunch when the weather is warmest might be the best option.
