Garlands GALORE

Looking to incorporate fresh greenery into your holiday home? Amanda has a few suggestions for bringing a stylish sentimentality to your Christmas décor.

-

• LONGEVITY. Soak your greenery in water overnight before you hang up the garlands. This will help them stay fresh and green for as

long as possible.

• CARD HOLDER. Hanging a garland above the kitchen doorway provides the perfect space to display your Christmas cards. Amanda

uses mini clothespins to attach cards to the boughs for an eye-catching piece.

• DECORATIONS. Ornaments are a playful way to decorate any garland. For a festive look, choose your favorite ornaments and secure

them with floral wire to a garland running up a bannister.

• TREE SPRIGS. Amanda recommends going to your local hardware store and asking for their Christmas tree trimmings. More often than

not, they’re free of charge and add a delicious pine scent wherever you choose to display them.

Want a magazine-worthy tree without macaroni ornaments from the kids? Set up a second tree in another room for the

nostalgic ornaments!

?? ?? “A lot of the home was a gut job, but a lot of the home was salvageable,” says Amanda of the state of the house when they first bought it. Thankfully, the solid wood cabinets were one of the many beautiful parts of the house Amanda was able to salvage.

?? ?? “There’s no better feeling than ‘home’ at Christmastime,” says Amanda. Decorating her home theater with an artificial tree infused the space with hominess. “I took cotton batting and stuffed in the gaps,” explains Amanda about her flocked tree. It’s no surprise that this talented blogger found a way to bring snow to Georgia just in time for Christmas.
