4 Crafts to Make with DIY Pom-Poms

-

Making pom-poms is a repetitive, cathartic craft that’s perfect

for indoor winter days. Here are 4 ways you can use them.

Note: To make the pom-poms, you’ll need a pom-pom maker, yarn and scissors. Follow the directions on the pom-pom maker to wrap it in yarn, tie it off and snip the loops. Repeat this process for however many pom-poms you need.

1. GIFT PACKAGES. Add 1 or 2 pom-poms to a gift package that match the wrapping paper or ribbon. Your gifts will be the best dressed at any party or shower you attend. Pom-poms needed: 1 or 2 per gift package, in any size.

2. WINTER WREATH. Tie or hot glue homemade pom-poms to a 16" wreath form. For winter, color combinations of blue, cream and gray work well. Finish your wreath off with a few bottlebrush trees or a big bow. Pom-poms needed: 50–60, in various sizes.

3. GARLAND. Brighten up a room with a homemade pom-pom garland. Simply thread up a yarn needle and string on the pom-poms. Tie off the yarn to leave 2-3 inches between them. Pom-poms needed: 1 for every 4–6 inches of garland, in any size.

4. RUG. Homemade pom-poms will make a cozy and fluffy rug. Using a latch hook tool, tie each pom-pom to a mesh rug canvas in your desired pattern and colors. Pom-poms needed: depending on the size of the rug, 60–150, in various sizes.
