Get the Look: BRICK

If you want to give your home office more modern or industrial farmhouse style, a brick accent wall is a great way to go.

• THE WHY: When it comes to adding interest to the walls of your home office, one of our favorite options is brick. “In the new ‘Zoom era’ of working from home, brick makes all the difference when viewed in the background of a home office,” says Sonja Tillman, director of marketing for Cherokee Brick. “It adds a layer of class and an inviting air.”

• THE WHAT: Brick is a versatile material because you can get it in multiple shades, or even paint it for a whitewashed look. “We have a few colors at Cherokee Brick that have been really popular for indoor use,” Sonja says. “Andersonville is a beautiful red brick with white and black accents, and Old Savannah has neutral tones of browns and pairs well anywhere. Both of these are part of our Handcrafted Collections, which are truly tumbled so no two bricks are the same.”

• THE HOW: You have two options for a brick accent wall: full or veneer brick. If you’re building a home from scratch, go with full brick because you can build it into the construction. “But when brick is being added on the existing foundation, almost always the best choice is thin brick,” Sonja says. “Cherokee Brick makes thin brick from full-size brick, so the color and texture is consistent without the added weight.”

?? ?? Exposed brick makes for a great accent wall in your home office. Pair it with some metal and leather accents, and you’ll have a modern industrial farmhouse space to be proud of.
