GET A MID CENTURY MODERN FARMHOUSE

-

Here are Kim’s favorite MCM elements to pair with

a farmhouse-style home.

1. TULIP TABLE AND CHAIRS. The name “tulip” for this look of table and chairs is due to the budding shape of the single leg on each piece. Usually white and glossy, the look of the tulip set blends with farmhouse style with its simple, curved design.

2. BLACK LEATHER. Most Mid Century Modern furniture comes with a black leather upholstery option. Because modern farmhouses favor black and white accents (think wrought iron and white subway tile), it will tie in with farmhouse style, even if the shape is retro.

3. WOOD ACCENTS. “Wood tones are a crossover between the two styles,” says Kim. Wood furniture is a staple for both styles, so even though the shapes and lines are different, wood tables, chairs and accent pieces make great transition pieces.
